MWM Studios to Develop Television Series Based on the Novel "All Adults Here", by Emma Straub
LOS ANGELES - May 7, 2020 - MWM Studios has announced the development of a new untitled series based on the recently released “All Adults Here,” written by Emma Straub. Straub and Sarah Heyward (HBO “Girls”) are set to Co-Executive Produce and co-write the series with MWM Studios. The announcement was made today by Gigi Pritzker, CEO and Co-Founder of MWM. Upcoming MWM Studios projects include the third season of Emmy Award-winning television series “Genius,” following the life and work of Aretha Franklin, starring award-winning actress and artist Cynthia Erivo, and the upcoming action comedy film “My Spy,” starring Dave Bautista soon streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime.
“All Adults Here” is a story about the beautiful messiness of being a family—aging parents, adult siblings, high school boyfriends, middle school mean girls—and all the things that follow us into adulthood, whether we like it or not.” Colorfully set in a Hudson Valley community populated with a quirky cast of characters spanning three generations, Straub’s novel takes her signature wit upstate, exploring the complexities of small-town life and what it’s like to live as an adult in the same place where you grew up. At all stages of life, Straub captures what it means to be in a family—gloriously flawed, endlessly frustrated, unconditionally loved—and poignantly reminds us how growing up never really ends. Tackling serious questions around parenting, mortality, and regret in a way that is both hilariously honest and heartfelt.
