A new stage adaptation of Ali Benjamin's best-selling novel The Thing About Jellyfish officially opens its world premiere run at Berkeley Rep in California February 5 after beginning previews January 31. Performances continue through March 9.

Directors Lindsay Utz and Michelle Walshe’s doc about Jacinda Ardern is a timely and bracingly intimate portrait of a woman in power, examining the left-wing prime minister’s work and life choices during her five-year term as New Zealand’s galvanizing head of government.

Following a sold-out, critically-acclaimed engagements at The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, Arena Stage in Washington D.C, and The Huntington in Boston, Mindplay will run at Greenwich House Theater through April 20, 2025 with a January 13 opening. 

One of the great forces behind Swept Away are lead producers Madison Wells Live. Founded by producer Gigi Pritzker as the theatrical arm of her entertainment company, Madison Wells, Madison Wells Live is devoted to nurturing storytellers who push boundaries.

The U.S. documentary audience award went to “André is an Idiot,” a life-affirming film about dying of colon cancer. Other audience picks were “Prime Minister,” about former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and “DJ Ahmet,” a coming-of-age film about a 15-year-old boy in North Macedonia.
